I love nut butters.
Unfortunately, the cost of a jar at the grocery store prevented me from indulging on a regular basis.
So I started making my own.
It's really quite easy. It just takes a food processor and a bit of patience.
Okay, a lot of patience. It can take quite a while to turn nuts into beautiful, smooth butters.
But stick with it. It'll be worth it.
Maple Cinnamon Pecan Butter
Makes about 1 cup
- 2 cups raw pecans
- 1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
Pop your pecans into the food processor and process until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl occasionally. It will probably take between 10 and 15 minutes. It helps if you don't stand there and stare at it. Go find something else to do while you're waiting.
Add in the maple syrup, cinnamon and sea salt, give it a quick whirl, and you're done!
